Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police has arrested 28-year-old Timothy Emmanuel, from Plateau State, on B.A.D road, in Lafia Local Government Area, for impersonating a military officer.
Also paraded were 60 other suspects who were arrested at different times, and locations for various offenses in the state.
The Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, Adesina Soyemi, while parading the suspects said the fake military officer was arrested with a military camouflage uniform, an AK-49 rifle with two magazines and a Toyota Corolla, with registration number ABUJA, BWR 973 CD.
Some of the other culprits arrested were Abimiku Murtala Lucky Ovey, 22, a 100 level computer science student of Federal University of Lafia; Okoli Bright, 25, also a 100 level political science student of University of Jos, and two students of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, who are members of the Black Axe confraternity.
A summary of detainees revealed that 16 were kidnappers, 18 cultists, 13 armed robbers, seven rail track vandals, and seven internet fraudsters.
Items recovered include five firearms, five handsets, four ammunition, four trucks/vehicles, two magazines, and one laptop computer.
Police Commissioner Soyemi appealed to the people of the state to be more supportive of the police by availing them with credible information that will help to proactively deal with matters of insecurity in the state.
